Nordvér Films is based in Stockholm but travels regularly throughout Europe, bringing the same documentary approach to every wedding regardless of where it takes place.

David Backlund leads every production. He arrives at each destination the day before the wedding to scout the venue, understand the light, and plan camera positions. On the day itself, he films unobtrusively from start to finish, capturing the full story of your celebration.

Italy

Italy is our most-requested destination outside Scandinavia. The Amalfi Coast, with its cliffside villages and terraced gardens, produces extraordinary footage. We have filmed at Casa Privata in Praiano, where the intimate scale of the house and its position above the sea create a setting that is both private and cinematic. Tuscany offers rolling hills, stone villas, and warm evening light, while Lake Como has grand lakeside estates surrounded by mountains.

Italian weddings often run late into the night, with outdoor dinners, speeches under string lights, and dancing that continues until dawn. The combination of architecture, food culture, and Mediterranean light makes Italy one of the best places in the world for a wedding film.

Greece

The Greek islands offer whitewashed architecture, deep blue sea, and sunsets that turn the sky orange and pink. We have filmed on Zakynthos, Santorini, and the mainland. Each island has its own character: Zakynthos has lush vegetation and dramatic cliffs, Santorini has the iconic caldera views, and Crete offers a mix of Venetian architecture and wild coastline. Greek light is strong and directional, perfect for cinematic footage.

France

French weddings have a particular elegance. Château weddings in the Loire Valley or Provence, intimate celebrations in Parisian apartments, vineyard receptions in Bordeaux or Burgundy. The French tradition of long, multi-course dinners with toasts throughout the evening provides natural structure for a wedding film, with built-in emotional moments.

Austria and Central Europe

Vienna’s palaces and ballrooms are among the most visually striking wedding venues in Europe. The Belvedere, Palais Liechtenstein, and Schloss Hof offer Baroque architecture and formal gardens that translate beautifully to film. Beyond Vienna, the Austrian countryside has mountain lodges and lakeside venues that combine Alpine scenery with refined hospitality.

Scandinavia

Our home region remains one of the best places for wedding films. The midnight sun, the water, the clean architecture, and the relaxed Scandinavian wedding culture create films with a distinctive atmosphere. We film across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.

How Destination Weddings Work

For destination weddings, David travels to the location the day before the wedding. Travel and accommodation costs are included in the quote so there are no surprises. We coordinate with local planners, photographers, and venue teams to ensure everything runs smoothly. If you are also booking photography with Karin Lundin, we handle all travel logistics as one team.

The final film is a cinematic highlight edit of 5 to 8 minutes, delivered within 12 weeks. Ceremony and speech recordings are available as additions.
